There's a theme park called Knott's Berry Farm, it's mostly old west themed. It started off as just a berry farm, I heard once that the Knotts family tried to plant their berries in what is now that town that I live in, the ground was too hard & the crops failed so they moved to their current location.Well, lets get back to the buttermilk biscuits-
So out front of the park there's a restaurant called Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner, they've been open since '34 & are famous for their fried chicken, biscuits & Boysenberry pie.
After some searching, I found the Knott's Biscuits recipe.
It's not exact but pretty close.
I didn't have any buttermilk so I remembered a substitute.
*Just add a tablespoon of vinegar to the milk & let it sit there for a couple minutes
And I used butter instead of shortening
